Laser or IPL?
While laser devices may only be used by certified medical facilities and (skin) medical practices, IPL devices, after the good training can be used almost by everybody as well by cosmeticians.
Even 12 years ago, there was only laser equipment for instrumental permanent hair removal.
Over time, the first IPL devices were developed for permanent hair removal. Initially the laser devices were superior to the IPL devices because they had more power. However, the IPL technology has been further developed in record time and has successfully established itself on the market for several years.
The difference between the two technologies lies in the wavelengths:
Alexandrite laser - fixed wavelength of 755 nm
IPL xenon lamp - Wavelength from ~ 500 nm to 1200 nm
While the long pulsed laser has a fixed wavelength, according to the IPL method, the wavelengths can be precisely limited by filter elements. Thus, the xenon lamp is surrounded by water for cooling purposes, the wavelength is limited to ~ 950 nm. Downwards, the wavelength is limited by the filter elements, whereby the type of treatment can also be determined.
For example, filters in the range of 590 nm-695 nm (depend on the skin type) are used for permanent hair removal. In addition, the IPL technology deals with scattered light.
A light pulse affects lots of hairs and destroys hair roots. Thus, a considerably large treatment success is obtained.
PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL WITH IPL
Hairs are perceived as unaesthetic and disturbing for both women and men in certain areas of the body. For women, they are, for example, armpits, legs, pubic area, back,belly, chest as well as the face. For men, it is considered to be a good manner to unhair at least the armpits and the intimate area partly or completely. Also a hairy back or overly hairy chest is perceived as very unattractive.
Nowadays there are a variety of methods (shaving, waxing, plucking, etc.) to get rid of unwanted hair. However, most of the methods are not of lasting effect, are annoying and time-consuming. In addition, there are often troublesome side effects such as ingrown hairs, inflammations, spots and other skin irritations.

Since this dye is the conductor, lightblonde, heavily grey, as well as red hairs can not be successfully removed permanently, since not enough melanin is contained in this type of hair.
This applies to both lasers and IPLs. The melanin converts the light energy into heat, which destroys the hair follicle, together with the hair bulge. In particular the obliteration of the hair bulges is important, since they can form a new hair follicle.
A destroyed hair root can no longer produce hair!
Since our applicator (the handpiece) has a large contact surface, the IPL method allows many hair roots to be reached at the same time. Clinical tests have shown that the use of the applicator has led on average to a 10 percent improvement of treatment outcome, comparing to treatment with previous applicators. Approximately 77 percent of the treated patients evaluated the treatment result after 4 treatments with good to very good.
During the treatment, however, only hair follicles, which are in the growth phase (anagen phase), can be destroyed. The majority of our hairs are in the resting phase (telogen phase) and only about 20 to 30 percent are in the anagen phase. Therefore, several treatments are necessary to achieve a permanent hair removal.
The individual sessions are held at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks.

The advantage of E-Light: The device works not only with IPL, but also uses radio frequency combined in one treatment. By the additional effect of RF the heat (70 degrees) can be held longer in the hair root. Thus we not only achieve faster results, but can also permanently remove fine and light hair, which can not be removed alone with the IPL radiation.
The melanin (pigment) of the hairs serves as an energy source for the hair root. Only pigmented hair can be treated due to the mechanism of action. The hair follicle is thereby irreparably damaged and is no longer able to produce a new hair root. The successfully treated hairs fall out after 3 to 20 days and does not grow out of a destroyed follicle.
Since the skin also contains pigments, it is an advantage if the skin is as light as possible.
The heat is directed through the hair to the root, a temperature of approx. 70 degrees is reached for the fraction of a second at the hair root. Only in this way the protein of the root can be destroyed, and the hair is permanently removed.
Broadly speaking, the therapy is more effective, if hairs are darker and the skin are brighter. Using improperly, if the skin is dark, it can burn, so our device has already been pre-programmed on 3 types of skin: dark skin - yellow and browned skin - white skin.
